Tennessee Tech University Wines
Enjoy DelMonaco Winery and Vineyard's new wines, Dulce Nectar Morado and Espiritu de Oro, named in honor of Tennessee Tech University.
DelMonaco Winery and Vineyards has partnered with the Tennessee Tech University Alumni Association and is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to the DelMonaco Winery and Vineyards family of wines:
- Dulce Nectar Morado (Sweet Purple Nectar)
- Espiritu de Oro (Golden Spirit).
Inspired by the school’s colors, purple and gold, DelMonaco crafted the sweet, red wine and dry, white wine to appeal to a range of palates. Dulce Nectar Morado begins with earthy berry notes on the nose, carries to strawberry and raspberry flavors on the palate, and ends with a smooth, round, lingering finish. The dry white wine Espiritu de Oro has a refreshing acidity, with fresh citrus and tropical fruit aromas which carry over to fruity green apple flavors. Both are a beautiful complement to the blossoming spring and summer weather.
As the journey from vine to glass began, the owners of DelMonaco Winery and Vineyards had a desire to engage local students in the process. By partnering with the TTU Alumni Association and TTU Agriculture Department, they were able to accomplish this goal.
Students from the agricultural program volunteered their time and energy in assisting with harvest and the planting of a new vineyard. Scholarships were also awarded to students who assisted in the design of the labels. Read more.
A portion of the proceeds from the wine is being donated to the TTU Alumni Association.
“Tech is such a vital part of our community and does so much for the community, this is just a way to give back to them,” Barbara DelMonaco, co-owner of the winery, said.
