Tech opens 2010 season with games at FBS foes Arkansas and TCU
Already scheduled to open the 2010 football season at the University of Arkansas, Tennessee Tech will play a second game against a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponent when it faces Texas Christian University the following week.
A member of the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), the Golden Eagles will face a Horned Frog team that finished 12-1 last year.
The Golden Eagles closed the 2009 season with a 6-5 overall record and claimed second place in the Ohio Valley Conference with a 5-3 league record. Tech was a perfect 3-0 against the OVC schools in Tennessee to capture the league’s annual Sgt. York Trophy.
The game against TCU will begin at 6 p.m. (Central Time) on Saturday, Sept. 11, in Amon G. Carter Stadium, located on Stadium Dr., in Fort Worth, Texas. Phone: (817) 257-7967.
TTU Alumni Relations will host a pre-game tailgate from 3-6 p.m. (Central Time) for alumni and fans. The tailgate tent will be set up just north of the Bartzen Varsity Tennis Courts (map). Parking is available for $10 in Lot 13 and in a grass lot west of Lot 14.
The Tailgate and Game Combo Ticket is $40 per person and includes meal, beverages and game ticket. The Tailgate Only Ticket is $15 per person.
